Fenugreek seeds are yellow-colored seeds- a herb added to Indian pickles and curries. It has a bitter taste and aroma with maple hints. It is popularly used as an ingredient in curry powder and spice mixtures. The seeds are rich in protein and nicotinic acid.

Three kinds of oils are obtained from fenugreek seeds by using different methods

  1. Fenugreek seeds essential oil - It is a volatile oil obtained by steam distillation of the dried ripe seeds. It is a thin brownish-yellow oil with the characteristic odor of fenugreek. It is beneficial in conditions of hair fall and dandruff. Its application gives glow to the skin by lightening skin complexion.

  2. Fenugreek seeds carrier oil.- It is a fatty acid oil extracted by the cold-press method. It retains all the natural nutrients of the seeds.

  3. Fenugreek Infused oil - It is a home-made oil in which seeds are infused in a base oil to obtain the goodness of the fenugreek seeds

Apart from oils, fenugreek seeds are the source of fenugreek oleoresin (a mix of oil and resin) which is extracted by solvent extraction method. Oleoresin is added to flavor food items and herbal medicines.

The aroma of the oil is not likable, but intake of the oil in the form of capsules helps lower blood glucose level, improves blood circulation and estrogen levels. It is useful in conditions of loss of appetite, constipation, weight loss, and gastritis inflammation. It can be used in the following ways

Fenugreek essential oil manufacturers also exist in large numbers in India, they supply all the variants of fenugreek including fenugreek seed oil and fenugreek oleoresin at the most favorable rates.
